Oil Refining

In terms of oil refining capacities and volumes, Sinur-Oil LLP is one of Kazakhstan’s largest refineries. The Company has concentrated its refining efforts in recent years to satisfy the market’s need for high-quality petroleum products. The modernization program for the refinery units has been steadily implemented by Sinur-Oil LLP over a number of years, increasing its competitiveness and improving the quality of its products. This initiative, which includes the completion of the Company’s responsibilities under the quadripartite agreement, is the most comprehensive attempt to modernize the oil refining facilities in the Russian oil industry. As needed by this program, the plant converted to producing all motor fuels of the Euro 5 class for the Russian domestic market in late 2020. Product distribution, bio and intermediate feedstock, gas logistics, and operations at Sinur-Oil LLP are all handled by this facility.

The Company’s facilities generate a variety of premium petroleum products and have state-of-the-art conversion and reforming capabilities. The Sinur-Oil LLP refinery outperforms the average Russian level in terms of engineering qualities of their production capacity and efficiency indicators, while the Company’s European plants are comparable to their competitors and situated close to our main target markets. Since its founding, one of Sinur-Oil LLP’s most significant business segments has been petrochemicals and refineries.

In 2020, Sinur-Oil LLP started manufacturing and selling products in this sector. At that point, the Republic’s needs were being met by the first tens of thousands of oil products, together with the processing and delivery of the first 115,000 tons of oil. In total, Sinur-Oil LLP shipped and processed almost 13 million tons of oil and chemical products in 2019–2020, with around 3 million tons going to export. Tatarstan’s oil processing industry can be extremely profitable, as demonstrated by Sinur-Oil LLP experts who implemented innovative approaches to management, resources, and production.

Experts from the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences’ Institute for Problems of Hydrocarbon Processing are assisting the business in updating its selection of catalysts for catalytic cracking. The Kazakhstan Institute of Catalysis is responsible for creating catalysts for hydroprocesses. Scientists in Kazakhstan had previously created catalysts to hydrotreat middle distillates, enabling them to produce a product free of sulfur and compliant with all Euro-5 standards. The corporation has recently concentrated its refining efforts on satisfying the market’s demand for premium petroleum products.

Building a smart refinery has been Sinur-Oil LLP’s strategic objective, with process automation at its core.
