Company History

The Zhambyl region’s oil industry officially began operating in 2009. At that time, a significant industrial oil field was found in the Zhambyl region. The republic’s oil resources are now widely known to exist. The history of Sinur-Oil LLP’s operations is reconstructed from books, pamphlets, party and state records, as well as articles from newspapers and magazines that have been released in the last six years.

April 8, 2019 is the Sinur-Oil LLP’s birthday. Projects including several intricate engineering structures, machinery, control systems, and automatics had to be developed. In addition, it was vital to consider the options for industrial supplies, guarantee sewage discharge, and appropriately position the building site in relation to other significant projects under development, such as a nickel mill and a combined heat and power plant. Problems with the construction of a sizable railroad junction, the engineering of communications lines, and pipeline transportation also needed to be resolved.

The acquisition of several oil and gas assets in Russia led to a significant expansion of the oil reserves and production volumes, oil refining facilities, and retail networks. By 2020, Sinur-Oil LLP had already produced more than 50 million tons of oil, or more than 10% of the nation’s total oil production. The Company emerged as the front-runner in production growth among rivals in Kazakhstan and the CIS, even in the face of the global oil crisis.

With the difficult market conditions at year’s end acting as a catalyst, the company persisted in optimizing and enhancing the efficiency of all business lines. The company was able to improve the corporate management system and increase the degree of information transparency with notable outcomes.

The year 2020 marked the commencement of the Company’s strategy update, along with significant modifications to the management policy. In order to meet the Technical Regulations on the quality of motor fuels, the production modernization program was started. The Company acquired the right to use subsurface reserves in several new, potential locations, including those on Kazakhstan’s Arctic shelf. The company raised its overall production volumes by almost 10%, to 30 million tons, by acquiring stakes in significant refineries in Kazakhstan and the CIS. Among Russian firms, the Company had the greatest indication of absolute growth in oil production by the end of the year.

With its strategic location, Sinur-Oil LLP is well-positioned to meet Kazakhstan’s dynamic energy demands on a continental scale.
